Gene Gary

Gene Gary is the Vice President and Division Manager at Walker Engineering's Central Texas Division, responsible for leading the team in San Antonio and Austin. In his role, Gene oversees all aspects of the divisions' daily activities, including financial performance, project management, design-assist efforts, customer outreach, administrative staff, and manpower. Additionally, he has oversight of the End-User Service Departments in both cities.

Gene's started in the electrical business working for his father, allowing him to gain early exposure and experience in the industry. He began his professional career with a national energy utility company managing large-scale projects before moving to the subcontracting side. Over the years, Gene has held various positions ranging from Senior Project Manager to Operations Manager, which has given him a diverse range of experience in large MEP performance projects and complicated commercial projects such as the Winspear Opera House, George W. Bush Presidential Library, and numerous Mission Critical Data Centers. Gene believes in mentoring younger staff and helping them to develop their skills, talents, and direction to flourish in their roles. He values building strong relationships with his team members and identifying their specific talents and strengths to position them in the best roles.

Gene enjoys spending time with his wife Jennifer and three kids, being outdoors, hunting, shooting his bow and cooking.
